Pricing for All-New 2011 Lexus CT 200h to Start Below $30,000

    • Fun-to-drive hybrid with sport-tuned suspension priced at $29,120
    • Best EPA combined rating in luxury segment at 42 mpg
    • Fifth hybrid and the most wallet-friendly vehicle in the Lexus lineup

TORRANCE, Calif. (December 15, 2010) - Lexus today announced the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) for the all-new 2011 CT 200h hybrid, which will be priced at $29,120. The MSRP does not include a delivery, processing and handling fee of $875. When it arrives at dealerships in early March, it will be the fifth hybrid in the Lexus lineup and have the luxury industry's best overall combined fuel economy at 42 mpg. With its starting price of $29,120, CT 200h will have the most attractive price point in the Lexus lineup and offer the level of refinement, quality and reliability that customers have come to expect.

"For just $1,000 more than the cost of a non-luxury hybrid, buyers can indulge in a CT 200h with our proven Lexus Hybrid Drive technology," said Mark Templin, group vice president and general manager, Lexus Division. "Lexus hybrids currently make up 90 percent of all luxury hybrid sales in the U.S., so you can imagine how excited we are to continue our leadership in this market with the CT 200h."

The CT 200h emits approximately 60 percent fewer smog-forming emissions than the average new car, and has EPA-estimated ratings of 43 mpg city and 40 mpg on the highway utilizing regular 87-octane gasoline. Moreover, the CT 200h can be operated in a switchable EV mode which generates zero emissions.

In addition to the EV and Normal drive modes, the CT 200h offers Sport and Eco modes which can help enhance either performance and dynamic ability or driving efficiency, fuel economy and emissions. EV, Eco and Normal drive modes emphasize ride comfort and smooth acceleration.

Sport mode maximizes the CT 200h's performance and agility. The throttle and Electric Power Steering (EPS) settings are modified. In addition, Sport mode provides less intrusive operation of the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRAC) systems. When Sport mode is selected, instrument panel lighting changes from blue to red and the hybrid power indicator is replaced with a tachometer.

To further enhance the overall driving experience, CT 200h features a sporty, wide-grip steering wheel and strategically angled pedals, and drivers sit in a low, 10-way power seat with a long seat cushion, lumbar support, and aggressive side bolsters. The hybrid also features a unique Yamaha front and rear lateral performance damping system. It's designed to absorb and minimize undesirable body vibrations, offer a more linear steering feel, and further contribute to ride comfort.

"With its low emissions, great fuel economy, four driving modes, and performance dampers, CT proves that you can use ‘fun-to-drive' and ‘hybrid' in the same sentence," said Templin.

Standard features on the CT 200h include SmartAccess with push-button Start/Stop and touch sensors on exterior front-door handles; leather steering wheel; a six-speaker, audio system with a CD player, and Bluetooth® for phone and music streaming capabilities; integrated satellite radio receiver (includes complimentary 90-day trial subscription); USB/iPod® connectivity; 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels; and dual zone automatic climate control. The CT 200h also incorporates a standard eight-airbag Supplemental Restraint System.

Lexus has developed a unique electronic device holder that will be included in every CT. This simple console-mounted holder can easily accommodate most cell phones, music players, or portable navigation devices, keeping the device in close proximity to the power and USB ports on the console.

The optional sixth-generation navigation system features a backup camera and Lexus' exclusive Remote Touch controller with user-adjustable haptic feedback. The innovative controller, similar to a computer mouse, eliminates the need for touch screen controls, allowing the pop-up navigation system screen to be mounted further up the center stack and away from the driver. This helps the driver benefit with a clear, high-resolution screen, improved site lines and reduced eye movement.

For comfort and convenience, the CT 200h is available with a moonroof and heated seats. Consumers can also add an optional Premium Audio Package which includes the Lexus premium audio system with 10-speakers and six-disc CD changer, HomeLink and electrochromic rearview mirror with compass. An optional Leather Package includes perforated leather seats, heated front seats, driver memory, and rain sensing wipers. Other optional equipment available for the CT 200h includes: LED headlights with headlamp cleaners, backup camera in rearview mirror, and Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

Improving its environmental performance, several of the CT 200h's larger components including the loadspace deck sides, deck board and deck board trim have been fabricated from a bioplastic material containing 30 percent plant-based resin. This helps in reduction of carbon emissions over the life of the vehicle. New for the CT 200h is the standard NuLuxe seat material that looks and feels like leather to driver and passengers, but is manufactured with the environment in mind.

Lexus Enform® with Safety Connect® is a telematics system available by subscription. Lexus Safety Connect is standard on all CT 200h models, while Lexus Enform is only available with navigation-equipped vehicles. Complimentary one-year trial subscriptions of Lexus Enform with Safety Connect are included. The Lexus Enform and the Safety Connect response center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - every day of the year.

The U.S. launch is due shortly after Europe's, and though we can't know for sure, we may extrapolate a rough idea of what it'll cost this side of the Atlantic.

The heart of the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale is a 4.7-liter V8 engine that sends 450 hp and 510 Nm of torque to the rear wheel. In comparison to the GranTurismo S, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale has 10 hp and 20 Nm of torque more. Although it doesn't seem much, the party piece is in its weight. The Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale is 110 kg lighter than the S which result and improved performance numbers. The car weighs a total of 1770kg. The top speed of the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale is rated at over 300 km/h. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes 4.6 seconds.

Inspired by the Trofeo GranTurismo MC and the race-winning GT4 motorsport models, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale special edition has been tweaked and modified as a direct result of the lessons learned from Maserati’s three racing programs. But what makes this vehicle even better is that it’s road legal.

    Press Release

The new Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale will be the fastest, lightest and most powerful car in the Maserati range when it goes on sale in the first quarter of 2011.

Inspired by the Trofeo GranTurismo MC and the race-winning GT4 motorsport models, the two-seater Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale that will debut at the Paris Auto Show will feature razor-sharp handling and will break the 300km/h barrier.

The GranTurismo MC Stradale responds to demands for a GranTurismo which can balance on-road driving needs with race-driving desires, incorporating the handling and aerodynamic lessons from Maserati’s three racing programs.

The GranTurismo MC Stradale produces more aerodynamic down force without producing more aerodynamic drag, it produces more power – 336kw, 450 hp – without using more fuel and it is more agile without sacrificing the GranTurismo S’s highly praised ride quality.

McLAREN AUTOMOTIVE ANNOUNCES MP4-12C PRICING FOR UK AND EUROPE

    • McLaren MP4-12C priced at £168,500* and from €200,000 in EU
    • McLaren-designed one-piece carbon chassis (the carbon MonoCell) introduces new performance, safety, and weight standards to the ‘core' sports car segment
    • 'Pure' McLaren concept offers unique innovation and service to high-performance sports car buyers

WOKING, UK (24 November, 2010) - The McLaren MP4-12C, the first in a range of high-performance sports cars from McLaren Automotive, goes on sale in the UK and Europe in spring 2011 at a groundbreaking price for a carbon chassis-based car. At £168,500* in the UK, and from €200,000 in the EU, it will be the only car in its competitor set to:

    • offer a carbon chassis (the MonoCell)
    • be conceived, designed and developed within a Formula 1 factory
    • offer the heady combination of 600PS, from a 3.8-litre engine producing less than 300g/km CO2 in a car with a dry weight of around 1300kgs

Antony Sheriff, Managing Director of McLaren Automotive said: "When we embarked on this challenge to design, develop, build, sell, and service the world's most exciting and high-quality high-performance sports cars - from a brand new factory at our Formula One headquarters - we knew expectations would be high. To deliver a true McLaren sports car, and, frankly, a reason to exist amongst great competition, it was clear we needed a unique concept that offered tangible advantages. With a unique carbon chassis as the foundation, and a powerful, but highly efficient McLaren engine at its heart, the 12C offers staggering value: no other carbon-based car can compete at this price-point, or with the 12C's technology and performance.

"Add to that a focus on ensuring that our customers will be offered spectacular care by a focused, financially strong global dealer network, and I believe we have launched a new type of car company, not just a new car. Announcing such competitive prices is a major step for us and another milestone achieved," Sheriff concluded.

The 12C's MonoCell introduces genuine innovation to the automotive industry and new performance standards below £200,000. It is ‘pure' McLaren, with all parts, from engine to switchgear, designed by McLaren.

12C prices in UK and European markets, inc. VAT:
    United Kingdom £168,500*
    Germany €200,000
    France/Monaco €201,000
    Italy €201,680
    Belgium €203,360

*RRP includes VAT at 20%: on-the-road price adds road fund licence (£950) and first registration fee (£55)

The 12C can be specified with a wide range of personalisation options, pricing for which will be confirmed at launch. There are 17 high-grade exterior paint finishes, including ‘McLaren Orange' - a solid hue that was made famous by the McLaren racing cars of the 1960s and ?70s.

A choice of 14 interior trims can be specified inside the cabin. Performance upgrades include a sports exhaust system, carbon ceramic brake discs, polished-finish callipers and two lightweight forged wheel options. The ‘standard' 12C features just one piece of carbon - the MonoCell - but carbon fibre options will include mirror casings, engine bay panels and engine cover.

McLaren continues carbon innovation; 30 years since McLaren MP4/1 introduced carbon monocoque to motor racing; carbon MonoCell contributes to performance, efficiency, cabin space and driveability

McLaren introduced a carbon monocoque to motorsport in the 1981 MP4/1 Formula 1 car. In 1993, the McLaren F1 debuted a carbon chassis on a road car. In 2009, the last of over 2,200 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLarens was produced at the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC); the best-selling carbon-based car ever. Now McLaren's expertise in working with this lightweight and strong material has led to the industrialisation of carbon chassis construction: where production of one McLaren F1 carbon chassis took thousands of man hours, each 12C MonoCell will be moulded in less than four hours. This step-change in manufacturing makes this technology available to sports car buyers in a new segment, and McLaren Automotive is committed to building all of its future cars around a carbon chassis.

The 12C is the first ‘pure McLaren' road car, with every one of its components designed specifically for the 12C. No compromise has been taken in developing the 12C. An intelligent design philosophy means performance is delivered in abundance, but not at the expense of efficiency: nearly 600 hp at less than 300 g/km CO2 are unprecedented statistics. The MonoCell also contributes to a spacious driver-focused interior that defies the 12C's compact exterior dimensions.

Designed, engineered, developed and manufactured by a team featuring extensive experience in McLaren's racing successes, up to 1,000 12Cs will be built in the car's first full year. A £40m manufacturing plant, the McLaren Production Centre (MPC), is currently under construction on a site adjacent to the MTC and will be fully operational by the middle of 2011. The future range of around 4,000 high-performance McLaren sports cars will all be built annually at MPC.

An initial network of 35 retailers with a passion for McLaren's plans, and a reputation for excellent customer service, will be appointed to represent McLaren across 19 countries worldwide. In the UK, McLaren will be represented initially in Birmingham, London, and Manchester, with details of all retailers on the McLaren Automotive website:

    Press Release

    • Exceptional equipment, yet priced from just £11,595
    • Three trim levels with affordable walk ups
    • On sale 18th November 2010

Hyundai has announced prices for the new ix20. On sale from 18th November, it will be available with three drivetrain options and three generously equipped trim levels.

The three trim grades – Classic, Active and Style – are unique to the UK and have been carefully created to reflect the demands and high expectations of British buyers.

The entry level Classic trim provides the key essentials buyers want – and crucially all of the safety equipment that the customer wants, but wouldn’t expect at this level.

The well-equipped interior features a height adjustable driver’s seat, ESP, air conditioning, six airbags, active head restraints, radio/CD audio system with six speakers, plus CD, MP3, RDS and USB-/AUX-/iPOD-input capabilities.

Prices start at £11,595 for the 1.4 petrol. Buyers wanting the exceptional economy of the diesel will pay an extra £1,400.

The next, and most popular, trim level is the mid-range Active. In addition to the Classic specification it gains a carefully-selected package of goodies that are designed to appeal to a younger family buyer demanding extra style and convenience. Externally there are 16-inch alloy wheels, body coloured door handles and mirrors (which are electrically adjustable and heated) and reversing sensors.

Inside, convenience comes in the form of Bluetooth phone connectivity, electric rear windows and audio controls on the leather-trimmed steering wheel.

The Active costs £1,100 more than the Classic, starting at £12,695 for the 1.4-litre petrol, £14,095 for the diesel and £14,095 for the 1.6-litre petrol auto.

The range-topping Style specification adds some luxuries that buyers in the real world want, with no ‘fillers’ to pad out the list. As a result, the price walk up from the Active is a very affordable £1,000.

The most striking of these extras is a dual-panel panoramic glass sunroof with UV filter, which spans the front and rear seats. The front panel offers a tilt and sliding function to let the fresh air – as well as light – into the cabin.

Sometimes though, you want to keep the light out, which is why the sunroof is equipped with blinds and the rear glass is super-darkened for extra privacy and protection from the sun.

To further improve the looks and visibility of the ix20 Style from the outside, front fog lights are standard and the door mirrors are fitted with integrated side repeater indicators. To keep these safe on narrower roads, they fold electrically.

The Style range starts at £13,695 for the 1.4-litre petrol, £15,095 for the diesel and £15,095 for the 1.6-litre petrol auto.

With such exceptional equipment levels there is little room for options – the only factory-fit extra is metallic paint at £395.

2011 Volkswagen Jetta

VW has launched the European edition of the new Jetta model. The Volkswagen Jetta was revealed firstly this year in the North American marketplace, but for the European type, Volkswagen has inserted a special set of engine alternatives (and far-off other of them) and more fashionable inside trim choices than on the stateside type.

The 2011 Volkswagen Jetta will be offered in three trim levels, Trendline, Comfortline and Highline, and with various diesel and petrol engines. The petrol range of the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta will include a 1.2 TSI engine with 105 PS, a 1.4 TSI with 122 PS and with 160 PS, and the top of the line 2.0 TSI with 200 PS. The diesel range of the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta will be offered with either a 1.6 TDI with 105 PS or a 2.0 TDI with 140 PS. Apart from the usual manual gearboxes, the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta will also be offered with VW's trick DSG dual-clutch transmission.

Styled by VW design boss Klaus Bischoff, the Jetta takes its inspiration from the NCC concept shown at the Detroit Motor Show last January. It’s a little bigger than the old car, with an extra 70mm in the wheelbase giving more rear passenger room. Euro-spec cars also benefit from a more luxurious interior trim spec than their US counterparts.

Jetta pricing starts at €20,900 in Germany. For the U.K., prices are expected to begin at around £17,000.

2011 Volkswagen Jetta 2011 Volkswagen Jetta 2011 Volkswagen Jetta 2011 Volkswagen Jetta2011 Volkswagen Jetta 2011 Volkswagen Jetta 2011 Volkswagen Jetta 2011 Volkswagen Jetta

    Press Release

    Now in Europe too:
Volkswagen introduces new era of world bestseller Jetta

Completely new Jetta at prices from €20,900 in Germany

Jetta 1.6 TDI BlueMotion Technology consumes just 4.2 l/100 km

Wolfsburg / Munich, 26 October 2010 - In the USA it is the most successful car of any European producer: the Jetta. Between the East and West coasts of America, up to 110,000 vehicles of this model series are sold annually. Americans value the Jetta as a highly safe and sporty saloon with “German Engineering.” In June, Volkswagen unveiled – in an event receiving international attention with stars like Katy Perry at the centre of New York’s Times Square – a completely new generation of the world bestseller with over 9.6 million units built so far. Now, the most impressive Jetta ever is also launching in Europe. This heralds a new era for this model series between Helsinki and Rome, Istanbul and Lisbon. The latest version of “the” saloon of the compact class is expected to carry over its US success to Europe.

This Volkswagen has the potential to do just that. Never before has a Jetta had this much sports appeal, this much fuel efficiency or this large a size. The times when the saloon was simply derived from the Golf are a thing of the past. From now on, these two successful models will go their own ways. The new Jetta, now significantly longer (4.64 metres long instead of the previous 4.55 metres), is very appealing as a high-end, spacious and sporty saloon with maximum active driving performance.

Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn: "We have completely retuned the technology and styling of the Jetta. That is why our number 1 selling car in America will also be extending its position in Europe from now on." The Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG continues: "At prices from €20,900, we are offering a Jetta that will add a new dimension of quality to the saloons of the compact class."

And in fact, this Volkswagen – available in Trendline, Comfortline and Highline equipment versions – takes an enormous leap forward in concept and styling. As mentioned, the saloon’s design is no longer derived from the Golf; instead, it follows its own line of styling. This makes the Jetta a strong and independent model series just like the Eos and the Tiguan. Designers and engineers also came up with an entirely new interior. The five-seat saloon’s rear seating layout is significantly more spacious (6.7 cm gain in legroom) thanks to the car’s longer wheelbase - a result of the increased vehicle length. With these dimensions, the Jetta ideally fills the gap between the compact Golf (4.20 metres long) and the new large Passat (4.77 metres long).

    Uncompromising efficiency

Even its smallest engines are truly great successes. Take the example of the 1.6 TDI with 77 kW / 105 PS: In the BlueMotion Technology version, this common rail turbodiesel only consumes 4.2 l/100 km (equivalent to 109 g/km CO2). Consider the 1.2 TSI that also outputs 77 kW / 105 PS and has BlueMotion Technology: This direct-injection turbo petrol engine only requires 5.3 l/100 km (equivalent to 123 g/km CO2), which is exceptional considering that this is a saloon with petrol engine that can move at 190 km/h. As already noted, the Jetta 1.2 TSI costs €20,900 in the Trendline version. The base price of the Jetta 1.6 TDI Trendline with BlueMotion Technology: €23,475. Additional power levels: a TDI with 103 kW / 140 PS and three TSIs with 90 kW / 122 PS, 118 kW / 160 PS and 147 kW / 200 PS. So, the Jetta is being driven exclusively by charged, high-tech, direct-injection engines. All engines except the 105 PS TSI may be combined with a dual-clutch transmission (DSG).

    Three equipment lines

Trendline: The Trendline equipment line is still the entry-level model to the world of the Jetta. When it comes to safety, standard equipment includes six airbags (with an optional eight), five crash-optimized head restraints (on front seats with anti-whiplash design), daytime running lights, belt fastening detection, automatic hazard flasher lights that activate with hard braking, Hill Climb Assist and ABS with braking assistant and ESP with trailer stabilisation.

Exterior features of the Jetta Trendline include details such as 205 tyres on 16-inch steel wheels, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors with integrated turn signals and green tinted heat-insulating glass. Inside, comfort and convenience are upgraded with details such as climate control (Climatic), dust and pollen filter, radio remote control of central locking, outside temperature indicator with road icing warning, chrome bezels for the air vents, multifunctional display (MFA) and a height-adjustable driver’s seat (with fabric seat covers in "Cardeol" design).

Comfortline: The medium equipment version, the Comfortline, is offered at prices from €22,600 (Jetta 1.2 TSI with 77 kW / 105 PS). This model’s exterior is distinguished by chrome accents in the radiator grille and 16-inch, five-spoke "Mambo" alloy wheels.

Inside, the Jetta Comfortline is upgraded with details such as storage pockets on the backrests of the front seats, centre armrests (with storage compartment in front), 8-way adjustment of driver and front passenger seats, comfort seats with elegant fabric upholstery in "Sienna" design, woven floor mats, the RCD 210 radio-CD system, a Chrome Pack (including rotary light switch and control dial for climate control) and what is known as the Small Leather Pack (leather-trimmed steering wheel, gearshift grip and parking brake grip) as well as black accents ("Black Pyramid"). Also standard: the Park Pilot (front and rear), lowering of the passenger side door mirror when reversing and four reading lamps (2 in front, 2 in rear).

Highline: The most exclusive Jetta version is the Highline equipment line. It may be ordered in combination with TSI engines from 90 kW / 122 PS (base price: €24,575) as well as all TDI power levels (base price of 77 kW / 105 PS: €25,875). Exterior features beyond those of the Trendline and Comfortline: 17-inch alloy wheels (ten-spoke "Porto" type), chrome frame around lower air intake screen, chrome trim under the side windows, headlight cleaning system and front fog lights with cornering lights.

A Winter Pack (including heated front seats and heated windscreen washer nozzles) helps to get through the coldest season of the year. Inside, features that refine the top model include sport seats with fabric covers ("Gloss") and artificial leather, particularly elegant accents ("Iridium Printed" pattern) and an automatic climate control (Climatronic).
